This is a sad and pathetic stunt from a failing Labor Government. It is a problem in search of a solution from a Minister in search of some competence.
Labor have failed to deliver relief on the cost of living and have resorted to conjuring up distractions.
Today we have seen a frantic rush by the Government to force a debate on legislation, even before it briefed Shadow Ministers on the contents of the Bill.
While Labor has suddenly decided the NBN requires urgent legislation, we’re still seeing no action on other important policy issues.
Where is Labor’s plan to lower energy bills by $275? Where is Labor’s plan for cheaper mortgages? Where is Labor’s plan to tackle gambling harm? Where is Labor’s answer to deal with Meta’s flouting of the News Media Bargaining Code?
Labor has run out of economic credibility and is running out of time.
The Coalition will consider this planned legislation through normal processes, rather than buying into another Labor stunt.
