UPDATE ON ROBERTS AVENUE SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS

For some time, David has been calling on the Georges River Council to improve road safety on Roberts Avenue in Mortdale Heights. Roberts Avenue is an extremely busy thoroughfare and it is important that motorists are able to safely enter and exit the “B” streets.

In response to David’s calls, Council will be adding 12 no-stopping signs along Roberts Avenue and the intersections of Beatty Street, Barr Street, Zela Street and Kendall Street. This will significantly improve visibility when entering and exiting Roberts Avenue and the “B” streets.

“Thank you to the many residents who have expressed their concern about road safety at the intersections on Roberts Avenue. Whilst the Council has taken some action to address the issue, I still believe more needs to be done. In particular, we need a roundabout or traffic lights to manage traffic flow in and out Mortdale Heights. I will continue to raise this issue with the Georges River Council,” David said.
