David Coleman MP was recently joined by members from the St George Junior Baseball Club to announce funding for upgrades to existing baseball facilities at Evatt Park, Lugarno.
St George Junior Baseball Club is set to receive $12, 000 to replace the park’s existing baseball nets, fencing and dugouts under the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Grant Program.
The Club is always looking to expand participation and encourage local residents to take up baseball, making the need for upgrades all the more vital.
“I am really glad we have been able to secure this funding,” Mr Coleman said. “New fencing will go a long way in improving safety for both spectators and players alike.”
“The Club is thrilled to be able to accept this funding,” said Mr David Beccaris, the President of the Club. “The facilities at Evatt Park have been in need of an upgrade for quite some time now.”
