OATLEY RSL SUB-BRANCH RECEIVES FEDERAL FUNDING UNDER ARMISTICE GRANTS PROGRAM

David Coleman MP recently met with representatives from the Oatley RSL Sub-Branch, which has been awarded funding under the Federal Government’s Armistice Centenary Grants Program.

The Sub-Branch has been awarded more than $3, 300 towards the cost of restoring their existing First World War Honour Board.

The Armistice Centenary Grants Program provides funding for local community-based projects and activities that commemorate the end of the First World War.

“It is important that we remember the extraordinary sacrifices of Australians in the First World War,” Mr Coleman said. “The Oatley RSL Honour Board is an important commemoration of the sacrifice of local families and I am pleased that this grant has been provided.”

“Restoring the Honour Board will enable the Sub-Branch to properly acknowledge and remember the sacrifice made by so many local families,” said Mr Bill Wright, the Sub-Branch’s President.
