EAST HILLS MEN’S SHED RECEIVES FEDERAL FUNDING

David Coleman MP, the Federal Member for Banks today visited the East Hills Men’s Shed which has been awarded Federal Funding under the Stronger Communities program.

The Federal Government will provide $6,000 towards this $12,000 project.

Mr Coleman met with Mr Brian Barrett, the Vice President of the East Hills Men’s Shed, as well as members of the shed.

The project incorporates updates to lighting and power, insulation and tools at the Men’s Shed which is located in the Georges River National Park.

These upgrades will improve the ability of the East Hills Men’s Shed to provide programs for men in the area, as well as to carry out work which benefits local schools, community groups and disadvantaged people. New and updated tools will improve safety for members of the Men’s Shed.

“It is good that the Federal Government is able to support the East Hills Men’s Shed which does some very good work in our local community,” Mr Coleman said.

“This funding will be a great benefit for our members and let us do more for the local community,” Mr Barrett said.

The East Hills Men’s Shed operates on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  For any membership enquiries please contact Mr Brian Barrett on 0487 700 808.
