DAVID COLEMAN HOSTS BUSHFIRE PREVENTION FORUM IN PADSTOW HEIGHTS

David Coleman MP, the Federal Member for Banks, recently hosted a community bushfire prevention forum in Padstow Heights.

The Forum was held in the school hall at Padstow Heights Primary School on Chamberlain Road in Padstow Heights.

The Forum was attended by representatives of the Rural Fire Service, NSW Fire and Rescue, NSW Parks and Wildlife and Canterbury Bankstown Council.

Mr Coleman held a similar forum in December 2016.

Inspector Scott Deller, the NSW Rural Fire Service District Coordinator described to attendees how the issues raised at the last forum had been resolved.

“Bushfire prevention is a serious issue in our area which involves many different bodies,” Mr Coleman said. “It is very useful to have all the parties with responsibilities in our area come together and listen to resident’s concerns.

Forum attendees were able to raise issues directly with participants.  Local fire management issues in Padstow Heights, Revesby Heights and Picnic Point were raised.

These issues will be investigated by the appropriate bodies to determine what action needs to be taken
